About Me

My name is Antonio Sosa and I’m from Venezuela, now living in Toronto, Canada. This blog is the product of years of frustration trying to get information regarding the Gibson U2.I got my Gibson U2 in Venezuela, used, from a friend’s friend as a gift from my Mother. That was my first good guitar, I learnt to play in a ramshackle Spanish nylon stringed Tatay and played with my friend’s guitars.I did something that I shouldn’t, take off the paint out of it. If you are thinking about removing your guitar’s paint… I will strongly advice against that. Not only knocks down the price of your guitar, but it’ll change the sound too. Peeled off, got painted like Van Halen’s FrankenStrat, then got painted in Blue, and finally… got stark naked (natural wood, without any finish) But now, I’m bringing it back to life. And I did. I would never let this guitar go… Ever.

Hola Maikel! The U2’s been working for a long while, I think for more than a year if I recall correctly, the pictures are in the blog, in the gallery page. I’d love it if you send me some pictures of your U2 in order to post them in the blog. I’ve been Ok, here in Venezuela, working in my regular job and playing with some friends in a local band called “Faldas Largas” (Long Skirts, hahaha) you can check it out here http://www.myspace.com/faldaslargasmusic but mind you, that’s not me playing those songs, they recruited me after they recorded that album when the original guitarist scaped from this country (I will too). I just got back from NYC, I was buying an amp, I got the Line6+ by Bogner Spider Valve HD100 with a 1960A Marshall slant cab, got it dirt cheap and I just love it. Nice to hear from ya, keep in touch, man, I’m gonna look for ya on Facebook. Tek Ker Now N See ya around!

I’ll get back to you soon. Have a good one!!

PD: My Pickups:
bridge: Humbucker: DiMarzio Evolution DP159FBC

middle: DiMarzio: Super Distortion DP218BK

neck: DiMarzio Tone Zone DP189

Respuesta de Bill Lawrence Pickups:

The closest pickup for the Gibson guitar that we recomand is the L-500XL for bridge and L-500R for neck
We do not sell Gibson Pickups, if you are interested in Gibson Brand name products
please contact Gibson direct.

Espero que sea de ayuda!
